RDA's masterplan for a major urban extension to Measham, North West Leicestershire, comprising 475 new houses and the restoration of a 1.1 km stretch of the Ashby Canal. In addition, the creation of a new mixed use wharf and canal basin provides a new market place and 12,500 sq ft of mixed use commercial space.
The canal restoration and new wharf, which includes19 canal-side town houses and 18 apartments together with public moorings, will bring new life, vitality and the prospect of ongoing regeneration to Measham.
An extensive consultation process included public exhibitions and a design review with OPUN, the architecture centre for the East Midlands. Planning consent was granted in 2014.
